We’re pleased to announce that the transfer from Melissi Multimedia to Scene Cinema has been very smooth and successful; the Melissi family continues to thrive and grow!
Melissi development continues to forge ahead and we have some important updates coming! We will be making these available for installation in early January 2011, during the winter vacation period.
However, many features are already complete, so if there’s a “must have” on your list, please check with support (here) to contact us and see if it’s available for you right now. As always, most of these changes are in response to user requests. |

KEY NEW FEATURES
These features and more will be available in your new FREE Melissi upgrade... |
 |
Updated user interface
The media controller has been radically re-designed to make it simpler and more intuitive.
Lovers of the classic blue bars (and we love them too) at the bottom of the student screen can switch back to the previous interface if they wish. |

Audio meter
Real time display of the audio spectrum is available for source and recording tracks. |
 |
Netbook compatibility
The new interface scales correctly for net-books running Windows and so provides a full experience for students using these increasingly popular devices. |
 |
Wireless support
Our new, very flexible support for wireless networking makes it possible to set up multiple sessions in a variety of ways, including the ability for students to connect by individual tutor, rather than just being in a static “classroom”. |
 |
 |
Advanced subtitling
The existing subtitling system is under major revision, with many new features and an interface that conforms as closely as possible to industry standards. |
 |
Melissi Interpreting suite emulator
This is a very powerful system, designed to meet the requirements of our friends at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. The system allows for a speaker to be interpreted on many channels into many target languages, and also makes it possible to perform relay interpreting. Sessions may be recorded. In seminar mode, up to six contributors are supported as source. This requires an additional payment for sites that have not taken out a Technical Support Licence... |
 |
MELISSI TECHNICAL SUPPORT LICENCE
Technical and User support for your Melissi systems is free for the first 12 months. After this, we offer an optional support contract for a site-wide
licence. The current price for the Technical Support
Licence is £350.00 pa.
Click here for a list of benefits available under the support licence. |

NEWS LEAK
We have news from the Melissi Top Secret Lab, based inside a hollowed-out volcano in the Fens... |
 |
MeX
Work continues on the Melissi eXercise system (MeX) which we are confident will be the most exciting learning system ever created! (subject to legal restrictions around such claims, of course) We can’t release any more details right now - but you will be hearing more about this before long! |
 |
AND FINALLY...
If you have a Melissi feature in mind that will help you and others in teaching and learning, please get in touch. |
 |
Wishlist
We are the most user-responsive company in the field. Most Melissi features are there because teachers and technicians wanted them. So just ask!
It won’t cost you a penny - but if we implement it, all we ask is that you test it. |
