Melissi was conceived by teachers for teachers at Hull University, England, in the late 1990s. It was designed to replace the old, malfunctioning analogue labs and to meet a growing need for computer-based language learning in the classroom. Since then, Melissi has continually been expanded, developed and improved with the help of feedback from our teachers and learners on five continents. Interpreting Practice and Training Software

Melissi provides two software packages for interpreting practice:

	Virtual Interpreter Suite A multi-channel conference interpreting system emulator.
	Black Box A stand-alone interpreter trainer with features for authoring interpreting exercises.

As the digital revolution has continued, we have developed with it - responding to the needs, requests and suggestions of our users around the world.

	Melissi will work across modern wireless networks.
	We are currently developing apps for mobile devices, making Melissi language-learning modules invaluable in the classroom and beyond.
